"The extraordinary life of Emma, Lady Hamilton"
The story of Emma Hamilton is one of rags to riches. She was born into the humblest of circumstances in Cheshire in the middle of 18th. century but then rose progressively through society to become the wife of Sir William Hamilton, the British ambassador to the court of Naples. Circumstances then conspired to drag her down again, and she died destitute and unacknowledged in France, but her triumph was to rise out of a world hopelessness to live a life that she could only have dreamed of as a child. That in itself is no small achievement.
