Ottoman Slap Concert

Ottoman Slap will heal your wounds, allay your sorrows and increase your joy as
they administer weird and wonderful music, originating in the soul of folk
musicians and travellers to and from many countries, be it Eastern Europe,
Andalusian Spain, Algeria or, yes, the Cape… and made it their own… They haven’t
climbed on any band wagon – they are the bandwagon.”

Review by Nigel Vermaas in Cue Magazine
“I was transfixed and mesmerised and every cell in my body was rejuvenated by
your Art – who needs anti-oxidants! “
- Heather Young – Ottoman Slap band launch, Cape Town, July 2013
“Fantastic. I love mad enthusiasms in all shapes and forms – and this was
wonderful.”
- Gillian, Alexander Bar Show, Cape Town, February 2015
“That was one of the best live music events I have attended, and I've seen many!
Well done for an impeccable performance.”
- Sunanda, Alexander Bar Show, Cape Town, February 2015
"With a range of eclectic sounds, exotic instruments and foreign genres fused into
one unique flavour, Ottoman Slap is a 6-man world-music collective unlike any
other band in South Africa and their debut album Idiomatic is testament to that."
Texx and the city album review:
